Overview
Saturday Junior Club
7-10 Years: 10am-1pm
The Junior Club – Saturday Sailing during the School Term consists of two terms mirroring the academic year. These terms are broken down into sections which allows you to spread the cost of the programme and for sailors to try out shorter blocks without a large financial commitment.
April and May
- April 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
- May 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
Sailors choose from two times of attendance, 10am-1pm or 2-5pm. The cost for the 8 Saturdays is €240.
What to Bring
We’re asking that children arrive in their wetsuit ready to participate in the activity if they can. Nevertheless, the following items are required:
- Change of clothes and shower gear – in case they get very cold
- Footwear that you don’t mind if they get wet, old runners would be ideal
- Rain jacket – even for when it’s not raining, it will keep a lot of the wind off
- Woolly hat for cooler days
- Wetsuit – either your child’s own one or you can borrow one from us for the duration of the term, bringing it home each day.
Wetsuit Rental – Included
Collection of the wetsuit can take place in the week preceding the start of the first date, including the Saturday of the weekend before. We’ll be open 9am-5pm each day, Monday-Saturday.

Great sailing school in the tidal waters of Dublin Bay - I have just done the RYA Competent Crew course here, five-days aboard the 36-foot Beaufort Venture under the guidance of instructor Gary Curran. The whole week surpassed my expectations, and I cannot praise Gary's teaching style highly enough. We covered the syllabus with clear, safety-focused instructions, followed by lots of hands-on practice. He was patient when things didn't always go right first time, and challenged us to step up our skills when he thought we were ready. We got lots and lots of sailing in conditions ranging from 10 to 30 knots of wind, and the Beaufort Venture is a comfortable and forgiving boat to sail. I won't name check my wonderful shipmates, but I can say that after this week of instruction and encouragement I've raised my sailing ambitions to a higher level. The INSS under Kenny Rumball are super-well organised, and supported us with all the advice, equipment, clothing and food we needed. A great week, and I strongly recommend the INSS to anyone wanting to start sailing or to build their skills.
