Dinghy Level 1: Start Sailing
This 2-day course is the ideal starting point for those with no previous experience who don’t mind getting wet in the name of adventure!
Dinghy Level 2: Basic Skills
Want to level up and consolidate their skills? The Dinghy Level 2 is the next step that combines exploring with more advanced manoeuvers.
Dinghy Level 3: Better Sailing
This course bridges the gap between basic sailing and more specialised modules like racing, seamanship, spinnakers, and trapeze sailing.

Courses run over two full days, and are designed to give each student plenty of one to one time with instructors.
We provide all specialist gear – wetsuits, booties and buoyancy aids (dinghy sailing lifejackets).
RYA Certification on successful completion of the course.
Dinghy Level 1: Start Sailing
Looking for a fun, hands-on way to learn how to sail? The Dinghy Level 1: Start Sailing course is the ideal starting point for adults with no previous experience who are ready to get on the water and get a little wet in the name of adventure!
If you’re water-confident, curious, and up for a splash, this two-day course will teach you the basics of handling a small dinghy safely and independently.
Dinghy Level 2: Basic Skill
Already completed Dinghy Level 1 and ready to level up? The Dinghy Level 2 course is designed to consolidate your skills and give you the confidence and competence to sail a dinghy independently in moderate conditions.
Running over two full days (Saturday & Sunday, 9:30am–5:00pm), this course is packed with practical learning, hands-on coaching, and fun on the water. You’ll not only fine-tune your boat handling but also start exploring more advanced manoeuvres.
Practice your new skills with the West Pier Sailing Club
Join the West Pier Sailing Club and sail along-side experienced sailors. Increase your skills, develop your techniques and regularly sail the Dublin Bay. WPSC is the best way to get out on the water and sail till your heart’s content.
Dinghy Level 3: Better Sailing
The Dinghy Level 3 – Better Sailing course is the perfect next step after completing Levels 1 and 2. It’s designed to consolidate your existing skills, boost your confidence, and introduce you to more advanced dinghy techniques through personalised coaching and focused practice.
Whether you’re looking to refine your handling in different weather conditions or explore double-handed techniques, this course adapts to your learning pace with instructor-led coaching tailored to your needs.
