Start Sailing Course RYA Keelboat Level 1
Ready to set sail? Our Start Sailing Course is the perfect introduction to the world of sailing. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just brushing up, you’ll learn the fundamentals in a fun, relaxed environment aboard our fleet of J80 Sportsyachts, stable, comfortable, and ideal for learning as part of a team.
This two-day course follows the official Royal Yachting Association (RYA) syllabus and leads to your RYA Start Sailing Certification – Keelboat Level 1 Certificate. It’s the first exciting step in your sailing journey!
Improved Sailing – RYA Keelboat Level 2
Ready to build on your sailing foundation? The RYA Keelboat Level 2 – Basic Skills course is the next step after completing Level 1, designed to boost your confidence and refine your on-the-water abilities.
This highly practical and informative course takes place aboard our comfortable and stable J80s, with a low trainee-to-instructor ratio of 4:1. This means you’ll get plenty of personal coaching and time to focus on your individual progress as you climb the sailing ladder.
Level 2 focuses on consolidating the core skills covered in Level 1, while also introducing new techniques to handle more advanced sailing situations.
RYA Competent Crew – 5-Day Practical Course
Looking to go beyond the basics and become a capable crew member aboard a cruising yacht? The RYA Competent Crew course is your ideal starting point. This hands-on, 5-day liveaboard experience introduces you to the fundamentals of sailing, seamanship, and life at sea.
You won’t be a passenger – from hoisting sails to steering the boat, you’ll be actively involved in every part of life aboard. It’s an exciting, immersive way to learn, and a great foundation for anyone looking to explore coastal cruising or work their way up the RYA scheme.
RYA Day Skipper – 5-Day Practical Course
Ready to take full command of a yacht? The RYA Day Skipper Practical course is your chance to learn how to skipper passages safely and confidently – with an experienced instructor on board to offer guidance, support, and safety oversight.
Over the course of 5 days, you’ll take the lead: planning routes, managing crew, navigating changing conditions, and handling the yacht under both sail and power. It’s a rewarding experience that will sharpen your decision-making and give you real confidence on the water.
