Get on the Water this January

A full list of what’s on this January and February in the INSS

We’re delighted to be starting back for another year of sailing and powerboat training. Given the time of the year we’ve a lot of shorebased programmes, but there’s still activity on the water too!

Children’s Sailing

The Junior Club Saturday sailing commences on Saturday 1st February and runs over the 4 Saturdays that month. The sailing continues into March, April and May. Full details are here: Junior Club – Saturday Sailing

We’re also happy to report that the February Mid-Term sailing week for ages 4-6 years, 7-10 years, 11-14 years and 15-17 years will run from Monday 17th to Friday 21st February.

There’s also an Irish Sailing SSBS Dinghy Instructor course taking place over the mid-term, running Tuesday 18th to Saturday 22ndf February. There’s two places remaining. More Here…

 

For Adults – Shorebased Courses

Day Skipper Theory
There’s plenty on ashore! First off we’ve launched a new format for the Day Skipper Theory Course this Spring. We’re trialing a schedule of one night per week (Tuesdays) from mid-January to the end of March. The first course starts on Tuesday 14th January, and there’s places remaining. For those who want a more condensed course we’ve got a separate course in February on Wednesday evenings and full days on Saturdays. Full information on both courses can be found here…

Coastal Navigation for Small Boats
We’re delighted to say there’s a huge increase in interest for intermediate and advanced powerboat qualifications. The Coastal Navigation for Small Boats course is the perfect short Navigation and Theory course to prepare for these practical courses. Our first course of the year takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th January, there’s 3 places remaining. Learn More…

VHF SRC Radio Courses
We’ve an Irish Department of Transport accredited VHF course running on Friday 10th (6-9pm) and Saturday 11th (9am-6pm) January – Fully Booked
The next course is scheduled towards the end of February, running Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 28th from 6.30-9.30pm each evening. Full Information…

World Sailing – Sea Survival
The first course of 2025 season takes place on Friday 28th February (6-10pm) and Saturday 1st March (9.30am-5pm). This course is suitable for offshore racing, as well as for Irish Commercial Endorsements for passenger boat skippers. Learn More…
