RS Feva Programme 2025

RS Feva race coaching is back for 2025. Following on from the last two years successful programmes we have announced our programme to complement the RS Ireland calendar of events.

Why we do it?

The success is not just measured in place finishes, but more importantly developing friendships, gaining confidence, working and communicating as a team and having fun!

A large number of previous team members are now in training programmes to be sailing instructors which is a really fulfilling result for coaches. Our emphasis in youth sailing has never been on racing, but it does play an important role for more advanced sailors in fine tuning skills that are otherwise difficult to do so.

Whatโ€™s more important is that the core competencies our sailing programmes develop โ€“ Communication, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Confidence, Independence and Determination โ€“ are further enhanced in this programme, which is not about the race results but the overall efforts and skills improvement.

Programme Dates

2025 provides three suitable events to deliver a suite of coaching and support around:

  • RS Feva Eastern Championships โ€“ Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May in Dun Laoghaire (RIYC)
  • RS Fest โ€“ Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June in Blessington Sailing Club
  • RS Feva National Championships โ€“ Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August in Greystones.

For all the events, the INSS Team will deal with the logistics of moving the boats to the events.

Programme 1: RS Feva Easternโ€™s Campaign

Weโ€™ll run a series of coaching sessions on Saturdays (mirroring the April/May Junior Club Term) with the one difference being weโ€™ll be out morning and afternoon.

Training: Saturday 5th April, Saturday 12th April, Saturday 19th April and Saturday 26th April

The RS Feva Eastern Championships takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May from the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Loaghaire Harbour. Our programme fee includes all associated entry costs and weโ€™ll move the boats to the club so that sailors can get the full benefit of the regatta experience.

During the event, our coach will be out and about to offer reassurance and guidance where possible and to de-brief the sailors afterwards.

After the programme, the fee includes the final 4 Saturdays of the Junior Club term, including attendance from 10am-1pm or from 2-5pm.

The programme and event fees are โ‚ฌ460 (inclusive of the remaining Junior Club dates).

Programme 2: RS Fest Campaign

RS Fest is an annual gathering of all of the RS Classes in Ireland. This year it returns to Blessington Sailing Club for two days of racing on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June.

To prepare sailors for this weโ€™ll be running a series of 4 Saturdays from 10am-5pm, running;

Saturday 7th June, Saturday 14th June and Saturday 21st June.

The event will take place in Blessington Sailing Club, like the Easterns weโ€™ll look after logistics transporting boats and our coach will be there too.

The programme and event fees are โ‚ฌ310.

Programme 3: RS Feva National Championships Campaign

The RS Feva National Championships take place in Greystones Sailing Club on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August. As weโ€™ll be right in the middle of the Summer holidays we feel the best coaching prep would be done the week before. This is the week of the August Bank Holiday so we would run 4-days of coaching Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th August (9am-5pm).

The cost for the coaching and event entry is โ‚ฌ425.
