Willow Park Afterschool Sailing
This four week programme provides an enjoyable and progressive way for children to learn to sail. We start at the beginning – rig the boats, learn the ropes and then get onboard. Over the five weeks children will have lots of fun learning sail techniques, rules of the road, capsize recovery and meteorology. Sailing also teaches them life skills including – Confidence, Communication, Creativity, Determination, Independence and Teamwork.
The course runs on Tuesday afternoons for 4 weeks after Easter on the following dates;
April – 29th
May – 13th, 20th, 27th.
Sailing runs from 4pm to 6.30pm
Cost for 4 sessions: €120
What to Bring
Students will be provided with a wetsuit, or they are welcome to use their own
Footwear: Old Trainers / Wetsuit Booties / Crocs (flip flops are not suitable for the activity)
Raincoat/waterproof jacket to wear over wetsuit
Swimming Togs (to be worn under wetsuit) and Towel
Wetsuit. Please note wetsuits must be long sleeved and long legged. Shortie wetsuits are not suitable for the Irish weather!

Hooked! - My 12 year old goes to Saturday sailing club after doing summer camp. He’s hooked and absolutely loves it! The instructors are great and very good with the kids - if you live locally with kids, it’s a no brainier!

08/10/2022 - Amazing! Well worth it and I enjoyed every bit of it! - Firstly, Jess (our instructor) was amazing! I was a bit nervous starting this course as I didn't know what to expect but Jess made it so easy to understand everything and I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it! As a result, I'll be booking more courses with them soon.
I think the school is excellent, the structure of the courses are excellent and the instructors are very very good at what they do and I just want to thank Jess and everyone else involved for not only making it an excellent weekend but also giving me an interest in something that I want to stick with for the rest of my life!
